Navy Captain, Mike Maixner’s company, Butterfly Ballet, is reaching out in memory of his beautiful butterfly dancer, Danalee. His mission is to raise ovarian cancer awareness, fund research and foster the love of dance. A generous portion of all sales goes to directly support these worthy causes. Join us in our Company’s mission as you enjoy the beautiful array of Butterfly Ballet products. We wish to celebrate the “life’s dance of all women” and to someday bring the curtain down on Ovarian Cancer.
Our Jewelry:The Pas de trois pendant (Dance for Three), originally designed and cast in gold by Mike in 1984 as a birthday gift for his beloved wife, Danalee, is the centerpiece of Butterfly Ballet. Mike obtained a trademark on this one-of-a-kind Butterfly Ballet design. Then, with encouragement and guidance from jeweler, Steve Gus, Mike was introduced to America’s Leading Jewelry Manufacturer, Stuller, Inc., who now produces the Butterfly Ballet jewelry line. This Butterfly makes a beautiful gift for any women. All jewelry is available in silver or gold and each order is packaged with symptoms and information about Ovarian Cancer.

Our Music:Shortly after Dana appeared to Mike in a dream, music soon became another avenue for raising Ovarian Cancer awareness and funding, as Mike began to write songs for the first time in his life. Soon, he was collaborating with Guitarist and Folksinger David Milam and Music Producer Jamie DeFrates. The CD, "My Danalee, Songs of Love & Inspiration," resulted from that collaboration. The magic continues… besides Mike, their two sons, Patrick and Andrew also began writing and singing music. Their CD, dedicated to their mother, is due to be released in 2009. Dana’s brother Dan Flick, produced and provided instrumental support, and Dana’s other brother Guy, played keyboard for several of the songs.
Purchase option: Only available through our store shopping cart. Donations are made by Butterfly Ballet on your behalf via the link to their website.
